(Medical and Dental Sciences) Tokyo Interdisciplinary Life Science Consortium
To enhance interdisciplinary life science research, four graduate schools in central Tokyo—Institute of Science Tokyo, Ochanomizu University, Kitasato University, and Gakushuin University—have formed the Tokyo Interdisciplinary Life Science Consortium.
The consortium aims to establish a regional network among industry, government, and academia in the Tokyo metropolitan area by engaging collaborators across all three sectors. Along with this network, the consortium works to develop a common graduate curriculum, co-host internships, and jointly implement student support measures to help transform advanced education systems, expand regional cooperation, and promote internationalization.
Through these initiatives, the consortium seeks to form regional, collaborative life science hubs, cultivate an environment for cross-disciplinary education and research that transcends traditional boundaries, and foster a new generation equipped with a wide breadth of knowledge capable of appreciating specific social needs.
