1. Entrepreneurship education video "Turn the Science you learn into the Power to build the future" released!

A new short video offers an inside look at Science Tokyo's entrepreneurship education.

The video features three graduates of Science Tokyo now working in various industries reflect on their student lives, discuss the importance of acquiring and honing entrepreneurial skills, and reveal how those skills have helped shape their careers.
Students in the science and engineering fields who enrolled in Science Tokyo undergraduate programs on or after the 2024 academic year are strongly encouraged to take entrepreneurship courses, and taking these courses is required for graduate students to complete their degree programs.
Check out the video and experience the impact of the Institute's entrepreneurship education through the voices of our graduates! Science Tokyo students are actively encouraged to enroll in entrepreneurship courses to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and skills they can apply on any future career path.

[Leadership and Innovation Section]

1. [Science and Engineering] Briefing sessions on Entrepreneurship (Leadership and Value Creation) Courses

All students in the science and engineering fields who entered Science Tokyo in AY 2024 or later are highly recommended or required to obtain credits from Entrepreneurship Courses as the following. At the briefing session below, entrepreneurship courses related to the elements of "leadership" and "value creation" will be explained. Attend a session to learn more.

<Bachelor's students> STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to take at least 3 credits from 2 courses or more (Certificate will be issued to those who fulfill the requirements)
<Master's students> REQUIRED to earn at least two credits from entrepreneurship courses designated with GA(s)*, and fulfill GA0M and GA1M.
<Doctoral students> REQUIRED to earn at least four credits from entrepreneurship courses designated with GA(s)*, and fulfill GA0D and GA1D.
*GAs: Graduate Attributes

<Distinctive Features of Leadership and Value Creation Category Courses>
1. Courses are not simply lecture-based, but are centered around work and discussion
2. Diverse group work across grade levels & languages in an intensive lecture format
3. Point system will be introduced, allowing students to choose from over 15/semester kinds of workshops that suit students' interests and schedules while earning a certain number of points.

2. [Open to all students] Entrepreneurship Courses (Leadership and Value Creation) Workshops

Regardless of grade level or field of research, any student* may enroll in entrepreneurship courses that consist of a combination of various workshops to earn credits, or apply to join in individual workshops. The following is information on workshops to be offered in 1-2Q.
*Course registration is not available to students in the medical & dental fields, but those students are also welcome to participate in individual workshops. (Credits and points will not be granted in that case.)

(a) Briefing Session on 1-2Q AY 2026 "Lean Launchpad Program (LLP): The Fastest Path to Business Competition"

Information sessions for the business creation workshop "Lean Launchpad Program" will be held in April. (The content of the briefing session is the same as the sessions held in February and March.) The program will be offered as part of the following courses scheduled for 1-2Q AY 2026. Attend a session to learn more!

This class helps you restructure and present the value of your research in a way that is engaging and accessible to a broader audience. And by listening to other participants' stories and responding to feedback from mentors, you will gain new perspectives on your research and develop storytelling techniques that help you communicate your ideas persuasively.

-Outline: This student-led peer-teaching program uses games and lectures to cultivate logical thinking and persuasive skills. The goal is to practically develop the essential communication skills needed for researchers. To achieve this objective, workshops will be conducted in a presentation format at Ookayama and in a debate format at Yokohama. Students may participate in a single class out of the above.

(g) Trading Game
(An event of Science Tokyo SPRING (Science and Engineering fields))
-Date and time: Thursday, May 14, 2026, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
-Venue: Room S4-202, Ookayama Campus
-Outline: This workshop was originally developed in the 1970s by the UK-based NGO Christian Aid. Its unique, strategy-based gameplay has been well received and continues to be conducted worldwide today. Through this immersive experience, participants will simulate real-world economic decision-making, negotiations, and strategic interactions within the global trade system. By engaging in post-game reflections, they will gain a broader perspective on how economic systems operate and interact.

-Outline: In your busy daily life and research, do you ever feel like you only have a vague idea of your future career? In this workshop, you will reflect on your past experiences and values.  Through dialogue with others, you can explore the values that will help you choose a future career.

-Outline: This workshop aims to help participants expand their research networks and build collaborative relationships that foster knowledge creation. Using project management methodologies, participants will analyze challenges in their own research projects, exchange insights with peers, and learn practical approaches to advancing their research more effectively through hands-on experiences.

(j) Enneagram

-Outline: The Enneagram is a diagnostic test to help you learn about yourself and explore what you want to achieve in life. It divides a person's innate temperament into nine personality types and illustrates the potential and essential traits each possesses. These characteristics include how we see the world, internal motivations, thoughts and feelings, behavior patterns, strengths, challenges, how we relate to others, work styles, etc. By knowing these, we can better understand how we and others are. The Enneagram is an ideal workshop for students who wish to learn more about themselves.

-Course description: This course invites students to become aware of social issues and to plan events where we can all learn from people who are exercising leadership in grappling with these problems. Moreover, students will learn the practicalities of engaging in discourse on social issues through effective dialogue among participants. GA1D can be obtained.

[Global Education Section]

[Science and Engineering]
The Global Education Option (GEO) is an elective curriculum designed to help students enhance their global competencies through synergy with entrepreneurship education. GEO offers courses for acquiring international experience including study abroad programs and for building foreign language communication skills. Details such as course content will be explained at the orientation (in-person & online).

[Career Development Section]

[Science and Engineering]
For graduate students in the School of Science and Engineering, entrepreneurship courses are mandatory. The Office for Career Education, Institute for Entrepreneurship Education, offers a wide range of entrepreneurship-related courses for graduate students, including courses that develop knowledge and skills necessary for careers in industry and academia after graduation, courses that encourage students to reflect on their own career paths through talks by professionals active in society, as well as internship and overseas training programs. In addition, various events are organized to help students learn about different industries and broaden their career options.
For further details, please refer to the materials on career-related courses and plan your course registration accordingly.

For undergraduate students, courses are offered to support reflection on future academic paths and career options, with a view toward joining a laboratory and advancing to graduate studies.
