Tuition Fee Exemption / Deferment and Admission Fee Exemption / Deferment for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026 for Undergraduate Students (Medical and Dental)
1. What the Tuition Exemption / Deferment and Admission Fee Exemption / Deferment system is
Based on a student’s application, the university conducts a selection considering the applicant’s household financial situation and academic performance, and may exempt the full or half amount of tuition / admission fee or grant a deferment.
Those who wish to apply for tuition fee exemption / deferment and admission fee exemption / deferment for the First Semester of the 2026 Academic Year must check this website and the application guidelines and then submit an application.
- “Exemption(免除)”
- :When current income makes it impossible to pay expenses.
- “Deferment(徴収猶予)”
- :When payment of expenses will be possible after several months.
<About year-round (full-year) assessment(通年判定)>
From the 2025 academic year, if within the standard period of study, the application result of tuition exemption will be valid for the academic year. Students who receive an exemption for the full year in the First Semester cannot apply for the Second Semester. (Except in the case of a “sudden change in household finances(家計急変)”.)
※ In this system, “sudden change in household finances” means death of a household supporter or damage from a disaster, etc.

2.Eligibility for application(申請資格)
<Tuition Exemption / Deferment>

Undergraduate students who meet any of the following 1–3:
- Those who are unable to pay tuition due to financial reasons and are recognized as academically excellent.
- Those for whom, within six months prior to the tuition due date (for new students, within one year prior to the first tuition due date), the financial supporter has died, or the student or financial supporter has suffered damage from disasters such as storms/flooding, etc., making payment significantly difficult.
- Those in cases equivalent to the above and whom the university president recognizes as having reasonable grounds.
<Admission Fee Exemption / Deferment>

Undergraduate students enrolling in April 2026 who meet any of the following 1–2:
- Those for whom, within one year prior to admission, the financial supporter has died, or the student or financial supporter has suffered damage from disasters such as storms/flooding, etc., making payment significantly difficult.
- Those in cases equivalent to the above and whom the university president recognizes as having reasonable grounds.
- Students applying for Admission fee exemption/deferral must have submitted an “Admission Fee Deferment Application(入学料徴収猶予申請書)” during the admission procedure period.
3.Application period, method, and documents(申請期間・方法・書類)
【IMPORTANT】Applications will not be accepted unless both STEP 1 and STEP 2 are completed.

Some documents may take time to issue, so prepare with sufficient time.
4.Notification of results(結果の通知)
If you applied for tuition fee exemption / deferment and admission fee exemption / deferment for the First Semester of the 2026 Academic Year, do not pay the tuition / admission fee while awaiting notification of the application result because payment will be deferred.
If you pay, it will be treated as withdrawal of the application.
Application results will be notified by email to university email addresses (@tmd.ac.jp, @m.isct.ac.jp) around early August 2026.
If any payment is required, tuition must be paid by late August 2026, and admission fee must be paid by the end of August 2026 (by 2026-08-31 (Mon)).
The payment method for tuition / admission fee will be informed in the result notification.
