Suzuki Laboratory Receives Best Paper Award at EMA4MICCAI 2026 Workshop

October 16, 2026

The research conducted by the Suzuki Laboratory received the Best Paper Award (Honorable Mention) at the 2nd MICCAI Workshop on Efficient Medical Artificial Intelligence (EMA4MICCAI 2026 Workshop), held in Strasbourg, France, on October 1, 2026.
This Research combines efficient learning with the small-data AI model developed by Suzuki Laboratory, demonstrating that an extremely lightweight AI model can outperform much larger models in lung nodule classification, even when trained with very limited medical imaging data. The research was presented by Mustin Billah, a doctoral student in the Suzuki Laboratory.

Research Title: Mustain Billah, Wahyu Rahmaniar, Ze Jin, Kenji Suzuki: MLSFP-CL: Label- and Compute-Efficient Contrastive Learning for Lung Nodule Classification in Small-Data Settings
