The topic is " The Artist and the City / Claude Monet and contemporaries.”
PARIS in the second half of the 19th century underwent a radical change from a late medieval town to modern metropolis. How were these extraordinary changes in technology, city-planning and architecture perceived / expressed by the leading French artists of that time? We will learn about the artworks of famous Impressionist Claude Monet and others and produce various city-scape-paintings, using pencils, brushes and watercolors.
Zuse Meyer will be the lecturer for the seminar.
She graduated from Berlin National University of the Art, and currently is conducting art creation activities based in both Berlin and Tokyo.
We are looking forward to the active participation of Science Tokyo students who are interested in art and creation.
